Following are the more memorable Terror acts by Islamist Jihadists. Sources include World, Nov/Dec 2001, and others
as noted. -- GB.
1972: At Olympics in Munich, Germany, eight Black September terrorists take 9 Israeli athletes hostage and kill two
others (September 5). They demand the release of 200 Palestinians (Muslims) in Israeli jails.
1979: After a controversy over the Shah of Iran getting medical help in the U.S., the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran is
overtaken by about 500 Iranians (November 4). They hold 52 Americans as hostages for more than a year (released
1-20-81).
1983: U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon are blown up by a truck loaded with compressed gas-enhanced
explosives which crashes through chain-link fences and barbed wire entanglements. Killed are 241 U.S. soldiers (October
23). Islamic Jihad claims responsibility. At almost the same time, a nearly identical suicide bombing attack kills 56 soldiers
at the eight-story French military barracks in Beirut.
1988: Pan Am flight 103 from London to New York explodes over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people on board
(including 189 Americans) and 11 on the ground (December 21). On January 31, 2001, a former Libyan Arab Airlines
official and suspected Libyan spy (Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi) is convicted of mass murder for his role in the bombing,
while another defendant is found not guilty.
1993: First bombing there, by Islamist terrorists in the garage beneath the World Trade Center in New York City
(February 26; later there on 9-11-01). A minibus containing 1,100 pounds of explosives blows up. Kills 6 people, injures
1,000. Courts later convict six Middle Eastern men, including ringleader Ramzi Yousef. They claim to be retaliating
against U.S. support for the Israeli government.
1998: More than 200 dead and 4,000 injured in simultaneous car bombings of the U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and
in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (August 7). The Tanzanian blast occurred within the embassy walls, meaning the car had
passed through a security check.
2000: (October 12) On the U.S.S. Cole, an advanced Arleigh Burke-class destroyer carrying Aegis anti-missile
weaponry, while in the port of Aden, Yemen, a pair of suicide bombers pulled alongside. While they stand at attention,
their small boat blows up and blasts a 40-foot-by 40-foot hole in the ships hull, killing 17 American military personnel and
39 injured. U.S. officials suspect al-Qaeda, the network of Osama bin Laden, who speaks of the ship as having sailed "to
its doom" along a course of "false arrogance, self-conceit, and strength."
2001: On the morning of September 11, hijackers take over two large jetliners full of people, both en route from Boston
to Los Angeles, and fly them into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. A little later
both towers have collapsed. During the same hour another hijacked jet smashes into the west side of the Pentagon, while
a fourth hijacked plane (whose hijackers are believed to have been heading to the Capitol but fought by cell phone aware
passengers) crashes in a field near Shanksville, PA. More than 3,000 Americans are murdered (including some Muslims).
Osama bin Laden's network being implicated, search and war against Taliban in Afghanistan proceeds. Fifteen of the
nineteen hijackers on the 4 planes were Saudi Arabian nationals. The pilots actually had trained in U.S. flight schools,
learning how to fly commercial planes but not how to land. All of the 19 suicide mass murderers were jihadist Islamists,
the black boxes revealing in last words something about “Allah is great…”
2004: Along with events in 2002 and 2003 around the world, are more recent ones such as in Beslan, Russia in 2004.
Terrorist stabbed babies to death, shot toddlers in the back, forced children to eat rose petals and drink their own urine,
raped teenage girls, executed their teachers, and blew themselves up in a crowded school gymnasium - death toll: 338./
Months earlier in Madrid, Spain, bombs detonated on four commuter trains during rush hour - 190 dead./ In a Bali beach
resort filled with young Western tourists on holiday, 220 were killed by an electronically triggered bomb in one place and
a car bomb in another./ A list of American workers kidnapped / beheaded / executed by Islamist terrorists include Daniel
Pearl, Paul Johnson, Nick Berg, Martin Burnham, as well as many other nations and peoples, including many Israelis, and
Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh (who had produced a film about Islamism’s mistreatment of women)./ After terrorists
had demanded that the British troops leave Iraq in 48 hours, late in 2004 came the murder of Margaret Hassan. Born in
Ireland, with dual citizenship with Britain and Iraq, she had lived in Iraq for thirty years and was married to an Iraqi. She
had been the Iraqi director of a humanitarian aid group./ From Sudan, there are reports of ongoing genocidal acts by
Muslims against Sudanese animists and "Christians", with Sudanese women getting raped, and some then being
stigmatized by lighter skinned babies of the Muslim rapists./ In an April 4, 2004 editorial "Up Against Fanaticism", editor
Phil Lucas of the Panama City, Fla, News Herald, cites ongoing world conflicts in which Muslims are involved. "They
can't get along with their neighbors on much of the planet: France, Chechnya, Bosnia, Indonesia, Spain, Morocco, India,
Tunisia, Somalia, etc."
2002: Ever wondered how that then 17 year old Lee Boyd Malvo, and his older 41 year old mentor/accomplice, John
Allen Muhammad, could attack our citizens in the D.C. Beltway-area sniper killings, in the fall of 2002? (19 shootings,
resulting in 13 deaths, and linked to Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.) Well,

from Muhammad, who was John Allen Williams before he converted to Islam (and turned his emotions and his army
training against Americans). As reported by the news, Muhammad and Malvo were arrested Oct. 24, 2002 at a rest stop
near Myersville, Md., about 45 miles northwest of the nation's capitol. They were found asleep inside the blue 1990
Chevy Caprice outfitted as a killing machine, with a hole in the car's trunk to allow someone to shoot from it. A
Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle, a scope and a tripod were recovered from Muhammad's car. Ballistics matched the rifle to
that used in the 13 sniper shootings. Prosecutors revealed Malvo's fingerprints were on the rifle. Although neither man was
believed to be directly associated with any terrorist groups, both were known to speak sympathetically about the men
who attacked the United States on Sept. 11. Muhammad is a member of the sect, the Nation of Islam, known for its
rhetoric about blacks eventually ruling in a new world free from the "white devils." Williams officially changed his surname
to Muhammad on April 23, 2001.
GB: Observations - There are many thousands of people across the globe with experience and with data. Included would
be peace corps volunteers, missionaries, political rulers, ambassadors, visiting professors, military families who have lived
on different continents, archeologists, and even souvenir-collecting sightseers, bikers, and backpackers. Plus there are
career journalists, overseas correspondents, and non-fiction and novel writers and who have spent decades writing daily
on world events. Libraries, archives (including internet) and bound volumes are full of billions of pages. Ah, but there is a
pattern of negligence. Was it George Santayana quoted as saying: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned
to repeat it.” Amidst all the facts, figures, and files of statistics – is a lack of true values and common sense. In loftier
terms, as the Bible says of Daniel, the ability to “read the handwriting on the wall.” Or as laid down by our high school
physics or chemistry teachers, “over time things get more disordered.” Fortunately, God gave His human creatures an
animated brain to have dominion over their animated lives. Unfortunately, man never seems to learn, but keeps making the
same errors of ease, then comes ignorance, then idolatry, weakness, deception, pompous denial, and complacency – until
war, famine, genocide, and totalitarianism wipes him out sufficiently to start the cycle over again.... Wanted: an informed,
well read, citizenry who will enact just laws, have the courage to enforce them; and above all a people of integrity who will
hear and obey the Savior, and have the courage stand behind Him.
Q: Compared to Jesus and His followers, Who was Mohammed, and who are Muslims, and who are Jihadists?"
A: Over 400 years after the Holy Scripture (Bible) was finished, Mohammed became founder of the Islam religion in the 6th century A.D.
Muslims - followers of the man Mohammed, the religion Islam, and the book Koran (Qu'ran) - have claimed that the Bible foretells
Mohammed as The prophet. However, many scriptures and prophecies, such as Deueronomy 18:15-22 in the old testament and 1
John 4:1-6 in the new testament, reveal their leader Mohammed as false. Those who continue anyway against God-revealed truth, and
who carry out Mohammed and the Koran to their spirit and letter, become Jihadists (Jihadis). Jihad will seek to dominate and rule by
any means – legal, civil, carnal, political, deceptive, threatening, deadly, terroristic and violent (bombings and beheadings, polygamy
and rape and genocide). When in power Jihadists are tyrants, deciding people's life or death. Such tyranny is of Satan all along (John
10:10). Muslims and Jihadis deny many Bible teachings, including Jesus being the Son of God (Diety), John 20:31. Muslims thus
reject Jesus' being a sinless sacrifice for mankind's sins (1 Peter 2:21-24). Muslims claim "Allah" is a singular entity, so then they say
that Jesus was just a man - one of Allah's prophets like Abraham, Moses, or Elijah. Therefore Muslims hold that Jesus' death made no
significant difference to man's salvation. On the other hand, Christians accept the Godhead as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit;
that Son of God being Jesus Christ (the Annointed), an eternal co-equal part of the Godhead, come to earth and born of a virgin woman
in order to die as a man for the sins of mankind. This gospel of Christ, and reward of heaven, is by one's own voluntary will, and
without any force is freely offered to whosoever will hear it, believe it, repent of sin, confess Christ, and be baptized into His one body,
the church. Such are the differences between a terror-using world jihad based on Mohammed, versus the veil-lifting worldview based
on Christ.
