Christians Are Not Infidels
According to the word of God (2 Corinthians 6:14-15), "infidel" refers to "unbelievers,"
opposing Christ, bowing to idols. Now the word of men, and the dictionaries of men, may
define infidel as a non-believer "with respect to a particular religion," and "especially
Christianity or Islam." (American Heritage Dictionary) Therein is the deception, and the
forged use of the word "infidel." Not even in jest do I refer to a Christian as an infidel.
Obeying God's word and becoming a Christian is the opposite of being an unbeliever.
Furthermore, 1 Timothy 5:8 identifies the infidels as accountable persons who are against
Christ. Acts 4:25-26 speaks of rulers imagining vain things and heathens raging against. That
sounds like Al-Qaeda and Wahabbi leaders supporting terror, and Taliban training in terror. It
sounds like jihadists marching in the streets of London with signs "Death to America" and
"Annihilate the Infidels." In Matthew 20:25-28 Jesus shows the non-violent way of
Christians, in contrast to the "rule by the stick" ways of the heathens. Based on Mohammed
and the Koran and the past 1400 years, terrorizing jihadist Muslims are infidels - fighting,
ranting, and some killing while committing suicide. This is against Christ, and even against
basic decency.
In his famous novel 1984, author George Orwell wrote about Big Brother's "doublespeak."
That is when "war means peace" and "hate means love" etc. Well, it is doublespeak when
writers or speakers refer to believers as infidels. Doing that plays into the hand of jihadists
who have hijacked the word "infidels" to refer to non-Muslims. Thanks to the Savior Jesus
Christ, one who obeys Christ is not an infidel, but a Christian.
