Gratz Brown
Having begun preaching the gospel in 1985, I served the church of Christ in several Texas cities for 7 years.
Since 1992 I am presently minister with a small Church of Christ in Kansas. Working other jobs also, I have
remained unmarried & learned contentment. From Wichita (KS) State Univ., I received a BBA in business, 1979.
My highest joy is helping souls turn from sin to righteousness, 2 Corinthians 2:17; 5:17-18.
My birth in the 1950's, ethnicity, and upbringing are black. Due to family tree branches who lent their skin genes, I
have been often viewed as white. This turned to spiritual benefit.. Even in 1960's and 70's? Yes, because it
compelled looking deeper than color and culture; and later to see the spiritual thread that connects all red-blood
humanity (Acts 17:26). By God's help, I have learned much about human nature.
After an upbringing that involved Baptist, and other experiences, I began searching. Many religions were visited
including Pentecostal, Presbyterian and others. Also I had the opportunity to go hear speaking by some famous
religious and cultural leaders of different types. Then at Wichita, Kansas in the early 80's, after an intensive study
of being taught personally, came immediate baptism into the
church of Christ. I was ready to tell the world, and
conducted many outreach bible studies with those of various persuasions. When mentors advised me to get some
training, two years later I graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching at Ft. Worth, Texas.
A spiritual and philosophical take on life has been my lot.  A little slow on the draw in some things, grasping bible
concepts came quickly for me. That included the difficult parts, because immortal God is talking. Since it is mortal
and flawed mankind who are transmitting and receiving, that is where the problems are. Thus, the purpose of this
website. Like
Apollos, we keep learning if willing to be instructed by the written truth, Acts 18:24-28. Seeking the
church that the apostles were members of, was the horsepower behind this drive (1 Corinthians 4:17).
Computers cannot replace church, but they can be bridges.  I am glad the internet gives ways to pass on some
lessons, if we follow an old motto to: Speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where it is silent (1 Peter 4:11).
